Weslaco – The gridiron was alive with energy on Friday night as the Weslaco East Wildcats clashed with the Donna High Redskins. After a fierce start and a series of hard-fought exchanges, the Wildcats emerged victorious with a commanding 26-0 win.

The game, held at Bobby Lackey Stadium, saw both teams battling intensely as they vied for control. However, it was Margarito Pompa who stole the spotlight for the Wildcats. Pompa showcased his playmaking abilities by scoring two crucial touchdowns, setting the tone for Weslaco East’s offensive surge. His first touchdown was a testament to his skill and determination, giving the Wildcats the momentum they needed.

Pompa ran for 88 yards on 14 carries with an average of 6.3 yards per carry.

Adding to the Wildcats’ impressive performance, freshman quarterback Malichi Rodriguez made a notable impact. The Wildcats are now 3-0 after defeating Sharyland 33-27 in overtime, and Mission High 31-34.
