MCALLEN — Weslaco East was defeated by McAllen High by a score of 21 to 14.

The Wildcats (3-2), (3-2) went into the game against the Bulldogs (5-1), (4-1) riding a two game winning streak. Heading into the contest the Wildcats defeated Brownsville Pace by a score of 27-0.

The game started out like a chess match. Both teams traded blows on the gridiron. The game stayed scoreless for the entire first quarter.

Weslaco East Running Back Ashton Guajardo scored first to give the Wildcats the early 7-0 lead.

By the midway point the game was tied 7-7 after a Bulldogs score with less than a minute to go in the first half.

McAllen High Quarterback Hunter Curl found the endzone as he danced past the Wildcats defense from 50 yards out in two plays. He scored off a fake hand off from the 16 yardline after a big gain.
