Panthers clash with Falcons on the road

WESLACO — It’s going to be a game with District 32 -6A title implications on the line.

Wesalco High (5-1, 3-1) look to claw their way to a win over Los Fresnos (3-2, 2-1). The Panthers are a game away out of first place holding the second spot just behind Harlingen South (6-0, 3-0). The Falcons are holding on to the third place posItion.

Los Fresnos and Weslaco’s match up kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Friday Oct. 15 at Leo Aguilar Stadium.

The Panthers were riding a five game wining streak until their 52-17 loss to Harlingen High last week.

On Friday the Panthers will look to get back into the winners column with a win in Los Fresnos. The win won’t come easy. Los Fresnos is averaging 261 yards per game and Weslaco is pulling in 245 yards per game. Each team has a versatile quarterbacks in Justin Rodriguez for Los Fresnos and Matthew Padilla for Weslaco High.

Weslaco High has defeated Los Fresnos in its last two meetings.
